12 Jul SPF: Save your Precious Face
Ladies! Are you still trying to “get a little color” or give yourself a little “natural Vitamin D” by spending time in the sun? Remember when your mama told you to use protection? Well she wasn’t just protecting you from Johnny D. in 12th grade. The suns rays are so, so, powerful and can be so, so harmful. I’m not joking around. For those of you that think that it’s better for your kids to be natural and not use products (aka sunscreen), you are hurting your kids. It’s nearly impossible to get all of the Vitamin D you need by hanging out outside and there are plenty of safe make-up brands to give you all the color you need. PLEASE! If you take anything away from me regarding skin care…avoid the sun and wear ZINC!
Remember those neon zinc sticks we used in the 80’s? Bring them back. My kids love them. Wear zinc EVERY. DAY. Opt for a mineral sunscreen with Zinc and Titanium Dioxide. Oh, and you can even get a little color with some awesome tinted SPFs. I do!
I love Elta’s Sport with 9% Zinc for working out because it does a great job of staying on even during long, sweaty runs. I swap between Drunk Elephant’s (20% zinc) and SuperGoops! (17%) tinted sunscreens for regular daytime use alone or under makeup. Drunk Elephant’s has Marula Oil in it which I love if I am dry (especially in Winter). I’ve heard wonderful things about Suntegrity’s (20%) as well. You just have to choose your color for that one. Ok, pick one and Save your Precious Face!
